Today was a day for exploring, once again in the great outdoors and this time at Angelsey Abbey. The spectacular gardens here offer children just the ‘simple pleasures of nature’ and today we decided to explore the gardens using a ‘magnificent’ magnifying glass!! How exciting for the children to get down among the plants and trees and study the bark, bees, spiderwebs and delicate flowers. Much excitement was generated after a slug sighting although the ladybirds continued to elude us!! The children were simply exploring the world around them and were delighting to be doing so. They set their own pace, (sometimes rather fast, sometimes slow) reveling in the open spaces and secret paths. You must visit if you haven’t been, and don’t forget to take a magnifying glass or borrow one from the Wildlife discovery stand. Happy hunting!!
