Sing a round

We had our first go at this in the bath the other night, we started with ‘Row row row the boat’ (a very apt song given our watery location) and went from there!! And it really didn’t take long for my daughter to get to grips with singing a round. It is a little tricky trying to sing your part and not be put off by the other singers but she managed it beautifully. After a couple of goes we were in full swing, my daughter starting first and me falling in behind and vice versa. My son also joined in too (between splashes!! ) After perfecting our ‘rowing’ we moved on to the slightly trickier round of ‘Frere Jacques’, plumping for the French version rather than the English version. Had to check the words to be honest as there’s always a bit of ad-libbing from mummy!!  So for all of you out there who also have a tendency to make up to the words as you go along, here you go…………….. xxxxx

Frère Jacques, frère Jacques,
Dormez-vous ? Dormez-vous ?
Sonnez les matines ! Sonnez les matines !
Ding, daing, dong. Ding, daing, dong.
