Watch the classics together

I know I’m supposed to be ‘slow parenting’ which isn’t a huge supporter of the ‘one-eyed baby sitter’ but there are times when television can play its part in ‘slow’ family living and this afternoon was one such occasion. Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without Mary Poppins being on the TV and this afternoon after our ‘slow’ New Year’s Day lunch we sat down as a family to watch, enjoy and sing along with Bert, Jane, Michael and Mary. What a wonderful film and how lovely to tell my children how I had sat down with my parents a generation before and done the same thing. We talked and discussed as the story went along and had a real family viewing experience.  It was a very special and how lovely to hear my children humming away to ‘A Spoon full of sugar’ as they went to bed tonight. A true classic. Great fun x
